Dan Compton

The lead litigator at the law firm of Compton Law Group, Dan has extensive jury trial experience dating back to 1986. He has litigated cases ranging in length from four days to six weeks for all types of clients, from injured individuals to school districts to major construction companies. Mr. Compton spent two years working for the judges of Kane County, Illinois, doing research and writing on litigated cases for several judges who went on to the Appellate Court of Illinois, as well as one future state Supreme Court justice. He joined Compton Law Group in 1986 after graduating magna cum laude from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Mr. Compton represents individuals injured through medical negligence of doctors, auto and truck accident victims, people injured by dangerous conditions on property, and those suffering all types of animal-related injuries. He also handles the majority of the corporate and business litigation for the firm. Mr. Compton lives in Elgin, Illinois, with his wife of 30 years, Lorraine.

Roberto Hernandez

Roberto Hernandez was licensed to practice law in 2014. Roberto attended undergrad at Loyola University and graduated with a Bachelors in Science. Before becoming an attorney, Roberto was in the medical field where he worked at an occupational healthcare clinic and was the Director of a Home Care Agency that placed Certified Nurse’s Aides in the Homes of the Elderly. During this time, Roberto also worked as a paid on call firefighter/EMT for the Aurora Township Fire Department. During his time as an emergency medic and firefighter he learned to think on his feet and always be prepared, which are skills he continues to apply in his role as an attorney. In 2013, Roberto graduated from Northern Illinois College of Law. During his time at Northern, Roberto was the president of the Latino Law School Association, he published an article regarding the changing laws of workers comp, and was part of the Northern Illinois Moot Court competition. In 2015, Roberto joined a landlord-tenant law firm. He diligently represented both tenants and landlords in Cook, Kane, Will and DuPage County. Roberto settled multiple cases and fought to get the best outcome for his clients. He has conducted multiple bench trials and jury trials. At the Compton Law Group, Roberto will continue to utilize what he has learned to get the best results for his clients. Roberto is also fluent in Spanish.

Antwan Hampton Jr. | Of Counsel

Antwan joined Compton Law Group in 2020. Antwan graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law. In the course of his studies, he served as a law clerk for the Federal Defender, defending indigent criminal defendants in federal court. Prior to joining Compton Law Group, Antwan served as a Law Clerk for the Kane County Judiciary, conducting research on a wide variety of legal issues, further honing his legal and analytic skills. He brings his skills and passion to Compton Law Groups client’s Antwan is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Kane County Bar Association. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and playing rugby as a member of Chicago Lawyer’s Rugby Football Club.

Hans Mast

Hans joined Compton Law Group on June 1, 2018. Previously, he was associated with the Law Office of Thomas J. Popovich in McHenry for 18 years, where he served as a trial litigator in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Hans was originally licensed to practice law in 1991, after graduating from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, in the top 33 percentile of his class. He began his work representing injured parties at a firm in Rockford. Later, he moved to Chicago and joined a firm that specialized in multimillion-dollar products and medical malpractice litigation. After representing injured victims in accidents for several years, Hans decided to join an insurance defense firm in Park Ridge that specialized in defending governmental entities. He tried cases on behalf of defendants for about eight years. In 2001, Hans returned to work representing injured victims in accidents, and spent the next 18 years successfully litigating personal injury cases. Hans has argued and won an appeal before the Illinois Supreme Court in the case of Hall v. Henn. He also appears in cases before the State Appellate courts. Hans is a member of the McHenry County Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.

Pat Flanagan

Pat has been with Compton Law Group since 1999, when he retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel. A Legion of Merit recipient, Mr. Flanagan is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College, received his undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1977 and his masters in political science from Governors State University, and graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1999. He is a member of the national Moot Court Honor Society and an adjunct professor of constitutional law at Governors State University. Mr. Flanagan has done exclusively injury, commercial and insurance defense litigation since joining Compton Law Group. Pat and his wife, Karen, have three sons and live in Orland Park, Illinois.
